Dear Friends in Christ,

We hope this letter finds you and your loved ones well and filled with the joy of the Lord! We have been blessed to witness the wondrous deeds of the Lord this year.

​

How can we not praise the Lord with our whole hearts, when we witness how He continues to guide and grow His mission? Just this year a new foundation has begun in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, three novices from Peru have come for a temporary formation experience, our mother superior came for an extended visit, and one of our sisters was the first to make her temporal vows here. And not to mention the continual promptings of the Holy Spirit, which remind us that He is always at work in our lives!

Here at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Convent, we have been blessed with the opportunity to welcome families for prayer, service projects, and formation meetings, as well as young women for discernment events. Our hearts are filled with gratitude towards the Lord and towards all of the people who are a part of restoring the convent which enables us to continue spreading the love of the Sacred Heart from this convent.

This coming year, the Lord is calling us to move forward with Phase 2 of the project. This includes restoring the Chapel, which is the centerpiece of our religious life and a place, for all those who visit, to encounter God in prayer. At this time, after several decades, the electrical installations, plumbing and HVAC system need to be replaced and updated. A general maintenance of the walls and ceiling is needed as well.

​

Phase 2 also includes the big challenge of restoring the second wing of rooms and its community areas. This will enable us to receive new vocations and allow us to reach out to many more souls. Restoring this wing includes replacing and bringing up to code the electrical installations, plumbing and HVAC system. It also includes changes in the distribution of some spaces which entails some demolition and building.

We would like to invite you to be a part of this beautiful challenge from the Sacred Heart! Through your prayers and support, help us raise the $110,000 we need to take an important step towards the goal of completing Phase 2 of the restoration of the convent. Our hope is to continue making God’s love radiate by reaching out to many more souls in need of the love of the Sacred Heart.
